How to display the flag in honoring the memory of our American heroes

On this Memorial Day, remember all the veterans that have served to keep this country FREE. Especially acknowledge those who ‘gave it all’ in defense of the liberties that we have.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America’ and her citizens for any amount, up to and including their life.

Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.

On Memorial Day the flag is raised briskly to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remains only until noon. It is then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.

The half-staff position remembers the more than one million men and women who gave their lives in service of their country. At noon their memory is raised by the living, who resolve not to let their sacrifice be in vain, but to rise up in their stead and continue the fight for liberty and justice for all.

Enjoy your peace, liberty, rights and freedom. And remember those who paid the ultimate price for you to have those.
